Tradition and innovation in stringed instrument making

As a skilled craft business founded in 2008, the company Kreul und Stoll GbR tries to preserve the handicraft character of its products (stringed instruments such as cello and double bass) and yet automate many monotonous and heavy tasks. The fact that this does not have to be a contradiction in terms is shown by the working time saved by machine support, which can be used to improve the quality of the products even further and to launch further innovations. In recent years, for example, all models have been consistently digitized and the data sets prepared for the CNC production of cello and bass tops and backs. This has successfully reduced the average working time for prefabrication. In order to remain competitive and to be able to offer new products and services, the company wants to automate further complex and time-consuming operations by means of robotics. The missing know-how will be built up as part of a joint project.
